Model Driven MES

AVEVA Manufacturing Execution System (MES) is a feature rich integrated manufacturing operations management (MOM) application including integrated Production and Inventory Operations, Performance Management and in-line Quality Management functionality. Native Integration of MES software with AVEVA Workflow Management adds digital work process management and configurable user interface functionality. This combination allows to model, automate and execute operational activities and tasks with procedural enforcement of the MES business rules and systematic collaboration across people, the MES and additional systems. Digital workflow modelling abstracts the operational work and data collection procedure definitions from the technical details of a MES system deployment and architecture. This abstraction provides reusability and adaptability of MES activity and user interface functionality in another instance of the software, which enables standardization of operational processes across the business for our customers.

We are leveraging this reusability and offer preconfigured workflows and user interface forms for standard MES activities. Model driven MES content packages for standard MES activities are provided for import and adaptable reuse to all AVEVA Manufacturing Execution System users (Customers and Partners) to help to shorten the time to value and sharing best practices of MES use.

What’s new with the Model driven MES Content 2.0 and new Inventory Management content release?

Model Driven Content is provided as Workflow Management packages which include preconfigured forms and underlying workflow models for executing MES activities. This release includes maintenance and enhancements for the Work Order and Job Management Packages. The fully new Inventory Management content package enables full material traceability and provides the additional out of the box content for covering the full range of MES Operations functionality. 

The Inventory Management version 1.0 package includes forms and workflows that allow supervisors to receive and manage inventory among lots and storage locations. Features include:

  • Receiving material or items against a purchase order
  • Viewing plant inventory with filtering capabilities
  • Performing inventory transactions: Receive, Transfer, Scrap, Split Lot, Combine Lot
  • The Job Management version 2.0 package includes forms and workflows that allow operators to manage jobs in a job queue, adding job production, and adding BOM consumption

New features include:

  • Consuming from available inventory
  • Setting the default lot for consumed items
  • The Work Order (WO) Management version 2.0 package unchanged includes forms and workflows that allow supervisors to manage work orders, a work order’s job bill of materials (BOM) records, and a work order’s job specifications.
