Wonderware Benelux Knowledge Exchange 2017 – Review

With great satisfaction the Wonderware Benelux team looks back on three successful conferences. The past few weeks were all about the Wonderware Knowledge Exchange 2017, which took place in Gembloux, Nijkerk and Gent. This major event was attended by more than 500 people, a mix of end users, system integrators, suppliers and other interested parties. On the agenda were the latest software trends and developments in the field of production and process automation. During plenary presentations and live demos the new product releases were demonstrated by Wonderware Benelux and selected end users. For example, Suiker Unie and Lightweight Containers showed how, through the use of advanced analytics and traceability, they were able to optimize their production process and gain complete insight.

2017 is the year where the Wonderware System Platform solution goes through an unprecedented transformation. The new Operations Management Interface (OMI) takes standard SCADA & HMI functionalities to a whole new level. The integrated Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) offering is transformed by the ‘Model driven MES’ release. Business Process Modeling (BPM) is the new basis for MES, instead of scripting. The Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and Wonderware Online Cloud offerings were presented as well.

During the plenary presentation on Cyber Security, it became abundantly clear that industrial networks require more and more attention and knowledge in order to prevent cyberattacks. A demonstration showed how Cyber Security software detects and warns of cyber activities on the production environment network.

Each Knowledge Exchange concluded with a network opportunity where experiences were shared and the first ideas for 2018 emerged.
We hope to see you next year again at the Wonderware Knowledge Exchange 2018!
